Hump Day Couture

Tumblr - Just like any fashion-oriented human being - I love to stay up to date on the latest runway shows, designs & collections and especially posting and sharing them through social media with friends & followers!
  1. Navigating and sifting through thousands of photos is basically what it can take until you have them organized enough to post!
  2. Finding your own personal favorite website, online magazine or app is key to getting up to date information quick & easy...because some girls can't afford subscriptions or don't have time maybe this isn't an option so #3 should help
  3. Everyone has facebook, twitter, instagram, or tumblr if not all of the above and more - therefore following influential designers, style.com, WWD & fashion bloggers can provide the quick and easy information or photographs that everyone is looking for on google! (the saga of sifting through the world of online fashion...)
  • Ulyana Sergeenko Spring 2015 Couture:
    • Guests attending were welcomed with the atmosphere of a Georgian banquet...
      • Salon Le Bristol Hotel - Paris, France
    • Couture Palette: Pomegranates, figs, cheese, wine or tea from a Russian samovar & the famous khachapuri, a sort of Georgian cheese focaccia
    •  Colorful Russian rugs that the designer had brought from her own home.
      • “I wanted this to feel like a Georgian house, very personal and intimate,”
      • - Ulyana Sergeenko
  • The young couturier later stated 'that it didn’t feel right to host a runway show while Russia, her home country, was in economic turmoil.' - [Reviews ] "Two-thousand fourteen was such a good year for us. We were so proud, and then, at the end of the year, half of [our revenue] was gone. I still don’t understand why.”

  •
    Ulyana Sergeenko Couture Spring 2015
Described as resembling Caucasian folklore as well as incorporating stunning embroideries in her looks; "bell-shaped silk gowns and corset dresses were as rich as the collagelike sets of Georgian film director Sergei Parajanov."
  • Took two months to apply the little beads to a lean navy-blue dress with a bolerolike top [which harked back to a 19th-century painting]
  •  The collection was undoubtedly retro, yet her structured feminine designs kept it modern.
  •  In one instance, Sergeenko applied the shape of Russian Orthodox - domed cathedrals to a long satin cape in baby pink [which she matched with a sober bustier dress]
  • Remember: If you're new to the world of couture or even just online fashion and blogging, don't stress over it! It should be fun and relaxing - couture can sometimes be like the lady gaga of clothes but we love it anyways, the appreciation is learned.
    • I digress, and here are a few of my favorites from Ulyana Sergeenko's Spring 2015 Couture Collection  (more on tumblr & instagram)
