My Way

If life just always went my way, it would be like Sunday, everyday - relaxing as long as you want in bed, time well spent. There's nothing better than having a room that's tailored to you; it's a simple upgrade that will look amazing, like your own retreat to both start & undwind in everyday. A place to relax of course, but it should be a place filled with (material or not) your coveted possessions, things you love or enjoy, those that just make you happy, smile and of course entertain. No matter what size space or budget you may have, this is an easy fix, and important if you actually consider how much time we spend sleeping...if nothing else, it helps channel the power of positivity.

I can never quite shut down, who said you shouldn't do work in bed?! Clearly my space needs to be more than aesthetically pleasing for me, homework can be done in my versatile bed with my DIY deep purple, velvet (x-long) king headboard. So happy with how it turned out and soon after purchased the 4-poster canopy that drapes from my ceiling online [no need to be to wary shopping for essentially mosquito netting], I have an affinity for blankets, and pillows as well. The more the merrier no matter what the season.

- Sunday Best - FRESH 🌹 flowers, especially with spring just around the corner, they're an eye catching detail that adds color to your bedside situation.

Gaucherie to Grace: 2017 Bad Habits to Break

  1. Remove: Whenever you apply a speck of makeup, always allow your face the TLC of removal  afterwards (no matter how frequently applied). I would also recommend using more than just makeup remover, sometimes what's left behind can cause a lot of unnecessary damage that could've been avoided by washing! My favorite: Cetaphil Antibacterial Facial Soap Bar
  2. ✔️Your bed/mattress: if you're able to - propping up your head or the entire head portion of your throne can prevent puffiness simply by allowing gravity to assist with blood flow lymph in order to avoid acculmuatuon underneath your eyes and other problem areas on your face. [Easiest option: The Foam Sleep Wedge]
  3. Sometimes you need to focus: DO a spot treatment regularly as often as needed with a purifying mask.
  4. Turn ON, or Invest In....A Humidifier:  Yes, in combination with a barrier repair type moisturizer (Best according to the experts? Those with Ceramides & Cholesterol) - these two every night while you're sleeping will promote durable, hydrated, supple-skin that will also be more tolerant to irritants, allergens, dryness and fine lines.
  5. "Lay It All On Me" Ed Sheeran ft.Rudimental: Your favorite plain, somewhat greasy hand cream will keep  your nails and hands in pristine condition every time, and all you have to do is apply before you go to bed. Of course for this type of moisturization you will want to apply in excess which isn't as comfortable in bed without using spa gloves so you may also want to consider getting a pair if you don't already own one. Lotion/Creams: Option1,Option2
  6. Pre-SLEEPING: First, it's good practice to make sure that your shampoo [1 OR 2 - honestly, so similar for my own personal, not professional use] is safe and healthy to use for your hair (i.e. Silicone free, paraben, sulfate) in addition to using a silk or satin pillowcase (yes, this is good hair & even skin care). However, I would personally like to try a beauty pillow or even the side sleeping versions without experience I won't yet recommend though as they can be pricier options. If none of these are feasible, you can simply begin by washing and changing your current style case ~1-2 days along with frequently/properly, washing your bedding.
  7. Up, up & away: Put your hair up and back, away from your face when your sleeping helps to avoid transfer of the hidden dirt and oil that can cause unwanted blemishes et cetera in the night and as it leaves residue on your bedding and pillows.
  8. Nobody but You: Can tell what a good nights sleep is or looks like for you to function at your best - however, ~8 hours of proper sleep will undoubtedly make you feel refreshed and better overall. {That feeling when you sleep in on a Saturday - can happen everyday, next time, meaasure how many hours and shoot for that during the week by adjusting what time you go to bed!}
  9. Conscious Exfoliation: St. Ives is under major scrutiny lately and after having been a loyal customer for years I've since stopped use, as my face wasn't really "better" when I used it anyways, and I'm sad to say, my skin has actually improved. So from a real person who has troublesome skin and tried everything, save your own skin and try a healthier option, price shouldn't be a factor as there are so many affordable, quality microdermabrasion and similar products that will produce amazing results. Lesson - skincare fanatics and shoppers beware, shop wisely, in general its good policy to avoid fragrances and any other known skin irritant. I was baffled but I must tell you I was a fool for purchasing La Mer on my college student budget, it smells and feels great but literally did nothing and might've even cause some blemishes. This is just me, although I'm sure that there are countless other things that are more beneficial for you and do not cost upwards of $600. On another note, I swear by safe extraction from a professional and at least once trying a facial, as well as visiting a dermatologist/skin expert. Clay masks are something that I've always used and came to me highly recommend hundreds of times over - despite their negative reviews, I do use pore strips and think that they're one way you can safely extract at home.[*Try a leave on exfoliator]
  10. Night Cream/Eye Cream: Hylauronic acid cream/gel (day or night) and eye cream even in your early 20s is no joke! Keeping up with and maintains your skin is something everyone can afford to do for themselves in 2017.
