Fashion Is...

I am so happy to finally be able to introduce the theme for the 35th annual fashion show at Genesee Community College to you all! It's officially:

 "Fashion Is _______ ." Our program has been lucky enough to see great success with our shows, we are now both the largest and longest running show in Western, NY.

This year, our theme is especially fun because it will undoubtedly allow our merchandising and design scene coordinators to translate and execute their vision of fashion. Although it is such a broad and open theme, a huge focus for us is tradition. Tradition simply means the transmission of customs or beliefs from generation to generation, or the fact of being passed on in this way. Which brings me to another focal point under the fashion is... umbrella - Generation Y, millennialis and how we perceive fashion, tradition and make both work for us in modern ways.

This video is something I compiled to share the responses to a Fashion Is fill in the blank. We received a lot of great inspiration from students, faculty et cetera and this is an interesting way to kick off the event planning, build ideas and hopefully hear suggestions/comments from many of you!
