Some of this & a little of that...

TODAY'S OUTFIT OF THE DAY:

  1. Vintage, Green Striped Blazer (from my favorite vintage shop near the Finger Lakes!)
  2. Nautical Tank (Brand:Sinful)
  3. White-boyfriend-distressed-denim (Brand: American Eagle)
  4. Laser Cut, lace-up, Stacked-Heel (Brand: Jeffrey Campbell - VonMaur, Eastview)
  5. Accessories: Belt - Hermes, Bag - Marshall's find! (+silver cut-out ring), Silver Watch with Pink Face - Movado, Hand of Fatima Bracelet - Kay Jewelers, Betsey Johnson fancy frog earrings & Vintage metal-wrap ring.
This was a much anticipated outfit & post due to Upstate's never ending winter months, and because I was dying for a white and green striped top. It all began with this Kim K. #ootd:
…So as usual, anytime I need to find something that appears to be a men's shirt from the 90's (i.e. an olive green oversized tee) I immediately head to my Dad's walk-in to find what I'm looking for. However, the one time my dad lost or got rid of a clothing item in his life (the era is always irrelevant) it just so happens to be the striped shirt that was almost identical to Kim's. So my search continued until luckily one day while perusing the Vintage Racks, I found the perfect outfit-replacement blazer; even with todays heat-wave the layers were super light and comfortable, heels too!
  • Please feel free to share your thoughts, opinions & suggestions - anywhere through my social media!
  • Check out your own local Vintage Shops and see what old items you can turn into trendy styles - I promise you'll at least have a fun afternoon trying on garments!
  • Rule of thumb, when in doubt visit your parents closet for new additions to your wardrobe (if they're "clothes hoarders" especially - my dad still has his members only jacket, god bless!)
  • Finally, with all of this warm weather and my lazy habits that have luckily for me turned into the hottest runway trend - TRY going natural for a day, makeup, hair, skin, nails…see how it feels, give it a go and take care of your skin, moisturize year round & SPF 30+ (oil-free of course!)
PS: I'm so pleased to say that I will officially be a style guru for College Fashionista this summer as a #GCCstyle representative - so stay tuned for much, much more streetstyle, looks & everything fashion!

Arrivederla Gisele

The once twelve year old Gisele Bundchen, supermodel to be, was already putting us to shame with the body that men and women alike will never forget - fashion industry or not.

#tbt 12-year-old Gisele is 2nd set of legs in on the left! (if you couldn't tell...)
The supermodel with three friends wearing majorette outfits, crop top, booty shorts and go-go boots for their dance recital!
She captioned the photo:
“Ready to the show..How about the hairdo?? hahahaha #tbt #1992 #greatmemories,”
First and foremost, from a more personal standpoint - I have watched you on the catwalk, in magazines and as soon as I could get online; whether you are representing Victoria's Secret, High Fashion, Football, Family or the United Nations, you are a beautiful woman and such an inspiration.

The now 5'11" mother of two, wife of Tom Brady has announced her retirement from the catwalk, hanging up her heels with her last strut at Sao Paulo Fashion Week, her home and modeling birth place, Brazil. It is absolutely surreal that she was discovered by an elite modeling agency in a place like McDonald's and has touched the Fashion Industry in such a marvelous way. She was born in the southern Brazilian state of Rio Grande do Sul and has inspired a generation of young Brazilian women to seek their fortunes on the runway. She has become the international standard by which supermodels for years to come will be judged and determined.
Energetically waltzing down the catwalk at Sao Paulo Fashion Week on Wednesday night; it began with her usual killer strut and smile and finished with an inevitable emotional farewell to the runway after two decades! However, before this occurred she did announce that although she was indeed retiring from the catwalk, she was not leaving the fashion industry as a whole. She has expressed her gratitude through various posts and interviews, stating on instagram: "I am grateful that at 14, I was given the opportunity to start this journey. Today after 20 years in the industry, it is a privilege to be doing my last fashion show by choice and yet still be working in other facets of the business." As I can imagine most mothers want or strive to be able to do so, Gisele will be able to spend the most time possible with her family by making the choice to retire at 34.
Husband, Tom Brady sat front row to watch his wife's final runway show. The Patriots Quarterback also posted this tribute to his wife: I am so proud of you and everything you have accomplished on the runway. I have never met someone with more of a will to succeed and determination to overcome any obstacle in the way. You never cease to amaze me.
Her final appearance was for Brazilian label Colcci, with her own three outfit changes, she walked the runway on t-shirts and crop tops on the other models as well! This final runway show was also an emotional moment for the supermodel's mother, Vania Bundchen, who watched the final appearance."She did her part, and it's a choice people have to respect," she told Globo TV as she wiped away tears. - Highly respected, but she will surely be missed...
Bundchen commented to the Estado de S. Paulo newspaper,
"I want to be with my family more and focus on special projects."
Gisele was arguably the world's most successful model financially in 2014 ("late" in her career) - Forbes magazine reported she earned an approximate $47 million in contracts. The 34 year old supermodel is also the face of Chanel and Carolina Herrera and has her own line of lingerie, fitting with her long-term connection to Victoria's Secret.

The Brazilian supermodel earns a whopping $128,000 per day according to the Daily Mail and has an equally impressive networth of $320 million - well deserving of a toast to her final hurrah, an undoubtedly illustrious career. As Rachel Zoe reported yesterday, it truly is "the end of an era", what this one woman has brought to the industry is undeniable.

Facial Beauty

I apologize for the lack of fashion & beauty posts from my world but here is one I am so HAPPY to share finally! Anyone who knows me, knows that I have struggled with my skin since about sixth grade & have dragged myself to every dermatologist in Rochester; in addition to trying everything on the Market (prescription & drugstore)! Now, I am truly content with my regiment and that is astounding, post-accutane, post face-relapse x2 this is soo exciting! Oddly enough, I got most of these items at Sally Beauty Supply - the brand is Equatone and I am a newly introduced fan. I purchased the line last week & already my face is visibly brighter & just overall looking and feeling healthier. I am so prone to breakouts, so that's always my biggest fear when experimenting with store bought products. Coming from me this is a good sign for most of you as I personally have highly sensitive, easily irritated & break out prone skin (even with Estée Lauder products & lines such as Murad from Sephora)! The face wash smells amazing #1, and secondly you don't need much so I can definitely see lasting as long as my usual cetaphil or purpose (Walmart); -#3 I am always a person who wants my face to both look and feel clean, which this foaming cleanser definitely provides. The mask, amazing, as I use prescription creams, it is a little harsh in initially as it dries, but the final results are better than I hoped! It removes excess oil without overdrying and makes my skin just right to apply moisturizer and either cream following the 10 min. facial. The day & night creams also smell fabulous (obviously if you prefer unscented this wouldn't be the best line for you or your skin), I have definitely seen results as well, so surprising because I was doubting it at the time of purchase! The creams would not be ideal however if you think you will be having a day outside or exposed to the heat, exercising etc., because although it is light weight, as soon as you begin to sweat you can feel it more than what is comfortable (for me). In addition, I will sometimes add either of my cetaphil moisturizers or one of my prescription strength creams! As a fan of Guerlain and their amazing, top of the line products, this collection of items has been an amazing and affordable purchase!
-Nose strips: these were just purchased because they were advertised as larger etc. and they seemed to have worked better than even the biore strips I've previously used!

So excited & pleased with how these came out, a special thanks to the models (check Twitter for more @gccstyle) & those whom helped out with pictures - huge progress towards amazing events in Western NY (Summer/Fall 2015 ACWC)! The dresses are going to be featured in either the Art exhibit, beginning August 2015 or the finale & fashion show in September and will be available through a charity auction as the events come to an end. Enjoy these awesome looks and stay tuned for more, we are working so hard to make these events spectacular for all in the area.

The Row: Fashion as told by the Olsen Twins

•The Row's show was held on the 35th floor of Ludwig Mies van der Rohe's masterpiece, the Seagram Building {Est.1958}.
•Midtown - floor-to-ceiling windows, tranquility, tailoring, Moroccan, leather, seventies, business feel & very "NY-like"
• black and white
•coincidence or not ?!: The Olsens have just signed a lease on an East 71st Street town house.
•1st Manhattan flagship to open before end of 2015 - these clothes will be in stores.
•Superfine materials, customer remains "gliding through life, wearing skimmy Moroccan slippers over sheer black hose, and clutching a croc gym bag to her chest."
•Seething with luxury...almost unintentionally
•"Wide leather belts - dually-knotted in the back of the garment which helped to add shape to the silhouettes of kimono-esque jackets (**the butterscotch-crocodile version has been spotted all over social media...guilty mine included- 1st photo of the post)
xoxo enjoy these gorgeous pieces
