Winter Elixir

Faux Fur - Full length just in time for the snow!

Details:
1. Vintage Faux Fur Coat that I finally bought this year from one of my favorite boutiques. (You can find other chic styles online, such as this 70's version, or of course #shoplocal!)

2. French Connection Roll Neck/Sheer-Sleeveless Top

3. Black Distressed Knee Denim (similar)

4. Women's Bandolino Karona Pointed Toe Bootie
5. Diane von Furstenberg Sutra Leopard Calf Hair Bracelet Clutch (unfortunately sold out, but here is another gorgeous option!)

This can be such an easy look and REALLY practical in below freezing temperatures. Unfortunately-cold weather calls for: a cute outfit to combat the temps {preferably without a NorthFace}.

xoxo Wishing You a Season of Gladness, a Season of Cheer & to top it all off - a WONDERFUL New Year! Stay Tuned For More Winter Looks & Lifestylings.

Some of this & a little of that...

TODAY'S OUTFIT OF THE DAY:

  1. Vintage, Green Striped Blazer (from my favorite vintage shop near the Finger Lakes!)
  2. Nautical Tank (Brand:Sinful)
  3. White-boyfriend-distressed-denim (Brand: American Eagle)
  4. Laser Cut, lace-up, Stacked-Heel (Brand: Jeffrey Campbell - VonMaur, Eastview)
  5. Accessories: Belt - Hermes, Bag - Marshall's find! (+silver cut-out ring), Silver Watch with Pink Face - Movado, Hand of Fatima Bracelet - Kay Jewelers, Betsey Johnson fancy frog earrings & Vintage metal-wrap ring.
This was a much anticipated outfit & post due to Upstate's never ending winter months, and because I was dying for a white and green striped top. It all began with this Kim K. #ootd:
…So as usual, anytime I need to find something that appears to be a men's shirt from the 90's (i.e. an olive green oversized tee) I immediately head to my Dad's walk-in to find what I'm looking for. However, the one time my dad lost or got rid of a clothing item in his life (the era is always irrelevant) it just so happens to be the striped shirt that was almost identical to Kim's. So my search continued until luckily one day while perusing the Vintage Racks, I found the perfect outfit-replacement blazer; even with todays heat-wave the layers were super light and comfortable, heels too!
  • Please feel free to share your thoughts, opinions & suggestions - anywhere through my social media!
  • Check out your own local Vintage Shops and see what old items you can turn into trendy styles - I promise you'll at least have a fun afternoon trying on garments!
  • Rule of thumb, when in doubt visit your parents closet for new additions to your wardrobe (if they're "clothes hoarders" especially - my dad still has his members only jacket, god bless!)
  • Finally, with all of this warm weather and my lazy habits that have luckily for me turned into the hottest runway trend - TRY going natural for a day, makeup, hair, skin, nails…see how it feels, give it a go and take care of your skin, moisturize year round & SPF 30+ (oil-free of course!)
PS: I'm so pleased to say that I will officially be a style guru for College Fashionista this summer as a #GCCstyle representative - so stay tuned for much, much more streetstyle, looks & everything fashion!

The Zoe Report

Woke Up to the daily 'Zoe Report' in my email inbox and couldn't stop reading it for longer than usual today so I thought that I would share my finds with you all xoxo

  1. Anna Dello Russo: Vogue Japan Editor whom also causes me to have style envy on a most daily basis via Instagram, and ps: she hasn't missed a single fashion week in 27 years....
  2. Diane Von Furstenberg: Lets be honest here, she's the woman we ALL hope & pray to be someday, BUT she is also an amazing designer who has been making women look sexy and feminine while simultaneously being a role model & inspiration.
  • TOP LEFT: Anna's Career Advice - Research meaning, it consumes you (in a good way), you want your life to be about fashion and having it as a center at the end of a long days work. Speaking of which, I love that she is stating that hard work is not constituted by your online/social media success & fabulous office wear. Unfortunately for some, they will find that they are not doing what they love when they realize they dread the next days work and complain about it more than how things are going with a positive outlook. For myself, I know that I am doing what I love because its constantly on my mind and the work makes me happy and proud of my accomplishments. However, as I am in my second semester in the Fashion Business program, there is still a rough road (with sunshine) before I can ever say that I've made it. Spending the past two years and 4 semesters at a school I didn't like with classes that I hated was a huge eye opener for me and allowed me to realize that I needed to follow my true interests and dreams.
  • You don't need a plan A or B when you figure out what it is that you would enjoy doing for the next few decades! It simply starts as a dream or a goal and with many years of time, devotion, positive attitude and appreciation it becomes a reality.
  • BOTTOM LEFT: Radarte Sweatshirt - check out TZR to see the full interview with the sisters/designers from California and what they're doing currently...ahhmazing.
  • ***TOP RIGHT:...Uhm...I am beyond inspired & someday, someday I just might need that as well Anna, touché & again, how fabulous is she?!
  • BOTTOM RIGHT: DVF - Super Stoked to say that I am finally a proud owner of my very own wrap dress and you must see the full article because she has just paid me a flattering compliment, I pride myself on my packing skills therefore I KNOW HOW TO LIVE. Thank you DVF again...the fabulousness continues.
I would die for a day in the life therefore I need to make it my life...the sheer excitement, please forgive me! xoxo Stay Tuned: Instagram, Twitter, Tumblr
